So today I was in my basement and all of the sudden I see two GINORMOUS spiders crawling around on the floor. For anyone who doesn't know this...I hate spiders more than anything!!! I am so terrified of them. So there I am standing in the bathroom and I notice them crawl across the floor..I screamed bloody murder!! Good thing I was home alone or Jami may have thought I was being killed or something. I didn't even know what to do! Most people would simply take a piece of toilet paper and grab them or smash them or something I dunno "normal"? But after all we are talking about me here. So after I finally caught my breath from screaming for like two minutes straight I made my plan of escape...run like hell out of the bathroom to safety :) I stopped hyperventilating long enough to get out of there and thank goodness it was at the same time that Michelle was coming over. Now a little history about me and Michelle and bugs...when we lived in Draper we had tons of them. We were both scared of them, me more so than her, and we didn't want to squish them..thats gross...so we would spray febreeze on them until they died. Why we thought this was a better less scary approach I have no idea..it sounds quite ridiculous now. Anyways so my spider man partner in crime came over and I told her what was going on. When I saw them the first time I dropped my clothes on the floor where the two mr spideys were now hiding. So we decided that I would pick up the clothes and shake them and she would STOMP them when they came out. Nice idea...bad execution. I pick up the clothes and with my little T-Rex arms try and shake them out from as far away as I could physically be. I see spidey #1 speed out...I scream again (yes I knew he was gonna come out but I'm telling you it's like impossible for me not to burst ear drums when I see them) I scare the shit out of chelle who finally realizes what I'm screaming at and she stomps once but misses the little devil. He runs for safety under the sink console. I start screaming again as I see spidey #2 crawling in my clothes. While I'm yelling "get him get him" in between screaming and feeling like i'm gonna pass out.. she is trying to get the thing off my clothes so she can squish the little bugger. She finally got him and I stopped completely spazzing out. As for spidey #1, he was in hiding and it was impossible to get to him so we vacated the basement. But I am glad to report that since the incident he has been found and squished. All is safe in the basement again...atleast for now :)

Shadows
So tonight was the final performances on the new show The Voice. Before I go any further I must clear up something. I LOVE IDOL!!! After all that show has introduced me to my two husbands (yes two..I am from utah). Danny Gokey and Lee Dewyze make my heart melt and if it wasn't for idol I would have no idea two such amazing men existed. So while I owe many thanks to Idol and will continue to watch seasons to come, I have found a new liking for this new addition to the music talent show biz world. Now that that is out of the way lets get down to it. Tonight the final four contestants performed for the title of THE VOICE. I'm not going to go into who is who and who coached who and blah blah blah...I said I liked the show, that information would require a "love it" rating (they did each sing an original song which was cool)...but what I will say is that Dia Frampton's original song "Inventing Shadows" completely overtook me and went straight to the heart. It was such an amazing song. Not only can this girl sing (Utah represent!) but she was singing something so incredibly meaningful. Here's my favorite part of it...
"You stare out the window at the passing cars and you look at the sky thank your unlucky stars.. no you're never quite happy right where you are, right where you are, with all that you are.. so you keep on inventing shadows where there are none..no there are none..yeah you keep on inventing shadows where there are none...you don't even see the sun, can't you see the sun. You're so young, so beautiful, so flawless in my eyes. Don't you know the world shines everytime you smile..Why can't you just smile? So you keep on inventing shadows where there are none, no there are none...Yeah you keep on inventing shadows where there are none..you don't even see the sun can't you see the sun?"
The song is so dead on!!! What I love about it is how real it really is and how much it actually went with what I posted last night about being happy in the now and actually even about the priorities part. Each and every one of us has this life and what we do with it is up to us..nobody else. It is our responsibility to make it everything we wish it to be. I think way too many people fall into the habit of "inventing shadows". We all have something that we wish was different. The true test is what we do about it. Do we hide behind excuses and shadows or do we step into the sun, face our fears, and fight like hell to change it? I know I have had plenty of shadows in my life and I am as guilty as anyone else as far as having used one as an excuse for my unhappiness, we've all been there. But to be quite honest I am SICK of living in that mentality. We are all dealt our hand of trials and tribulations...thats life. Take responsibility for it, put your big girl panties on and make a choice to do something about! Focus on all the great parts of you...what you bring into other people's lives, all your blessings, the differences you make on a daily basis (no matter how big or how small)...stop thanking your unlucky stars and make your own luck for once! Nobody is going to do it for you...after all everyone has somewhere in their life that they can be doing it for themselves. This is your life and it will become whatever you choose to make it..good or bad. You can choose to be miserable or happy..the amount of energy it takes is the same...so which one will it be?? I am choosing happy :)

Late night thoughts...
So I have decided that blogging can be much like journaling...but even better because I can type way faster than I can write. Okay so I can write pretty fast..but not without it looking messy :) And lets face it..I am a total perfectionist. Anyways...on to important business. I just wanted to write down how grateful I am for where I am at in my life right now. For once in my life I am completely content with things, including imperfections and things I wish were different. I finally have started to grasp the concept of living in the now and appreciating all parts of your life...they are helping shape your tomorrow so even if you hate them now you must thank them. I went to lunch with someone super important to me today and after a little conversation, realized once again that life is too damn short. Just be happy!!! Life is going to throw you so many curve balls...but guess what..thats what makes life LIFE. You have to make the effort and decision to cherish every second that you get with all of those that you care about. I was reminded how important communication is. Don't let little things become big things. Don't waste time wondering what someone is thinking...ask them! And most importantly..never waste an opportunity to tell someone what they mean to you and how much they bring to your life. Sure sure we have all heard all of these things before...but do we ever really take the time to let them sink it and let ourselves believe them?? Not often enough. Things will only be a priority in your life if you make them one. We wonder so often why we don't have certain things or why we don't feel this way or that way..every situation is different but theres a good chance that the reason behind the missing piece is that it has not been a priority. I've been looking at my own priorities lately and really thinking about my true efforts with them. Its kinda crazy that the ones I put actual heart and effort and time into are doing well, while the ones that have been overlooked and left for "tomorrow" are the ones that I feel least satisfied with. Who would have thought? :) Anyways...there are my thoughts for the night...Some randomness and all over the place-ness but hey it is 2 am! Night world...

A new beginning :)
So I know I tried this before...but I kinda failed at it :) So I am going to try again. I realized looking back at the posts I did (okay I know there were only like four!) that it's actually pretty cool to see what I was doing, thinking, or whatever else on different days. So even though it was not a ton of reflection..the four posts were inspiring to try again..so here it goes :)
I flew into San Fran today with my mom and Julie. I gave my mom a trip for her birthday back in March so we will be here through Sunday. I am so excited to be away for a few days as it's been a pretty crappy few weeks. Kristin flies in tomorrow and will be spending the rest of the time here with us so that will be awesome! It's nice to spend time with just the girls, away from home and stress and work and life. Today we went to lunch at hard rock...sipped on some delicious drinks and then went shopping and looking around on Pier 39. It was so much fun. I went diving for a pearl!! Okay so not really but I picked out an oyster from a bucket and then the worker guy, named Sergio, cut it open to find out what Pearl I got to keep. It was beautiful!! He said it was one of the biggest ones he's seen someone get! It has a pink tone to it which apparently signifies beauty. My mom had it put in a diamond backwards j looking setting. That description does it no justice though haha ...Its beautiful!!!! I was so excited and cannot wait to be able to wear it tomorrow. (It had to sit for 24 hours so that it could set properly). We also found a store called "The Perfect Purse"...all I can say to that is WOW!!!! There were walls and walls of purses! I was in heaven! I was proud of myself though as I didn't buy any..just yet anyways :) I figured I would wait and see what the other shops have before I make any decisions...since of course the purse has got to be perfect! Tomorrow we are going to do more shopping and then go to dinner at a nice restaurant Kris has reservations at. I am sure it will be another great day :) I'm off to bed..night world.

Bella's Costume Contest!
So today I took Bella with Angie and Talli (her puppy) to PetCo for the pet costume contest and Halloween Pictures. It was pretty fun! There were tons and tons of dogs there, all with really creative costumes. I am proud to say that Bella was the one and only Tinkerbell! I was excited! It kind of surprised me though since it was so hard to get a hold of one of the costumes! Anyways--the contest was open to all pets and included a Guinea pig and believe it or not a mouse! It was teeny tiny and was dressed up with a hula skirt and lei. He won first place. I figure anyone who can get a costume on something that tiny deserves to win anyways! The second place was a lab dressed up as a scuba diver. It was pretty funny. It had a bikini on, these miniature flippers, a scuba tank, and goggles on the top of the head. One of my favorites was Dryfus the cave dog. He was a poodle and his owner had attached brown hair, colored his face hair with beard color, put on a cloak like thing in old looking leopard like print, and had rubber banded bones in his hair! It was crazy how much she had put together! He looked so cute though and was so calm about it. There was one dog that was a problem. He was a big lab and he kept trying to eat all the other dogs!! Seriously he was not a nice guy! His owner just kept telling everyone it was their fault for letting their dog get by him until finally she was asked to take him out of the store. I personally think he was just upset that he was wearing a pink tutu and princess crown. Messed with his manhood a little ha ha! The other interesting thing was hearing about all the activities that these huge dog lovers do. I never again want to hear that I spoil Bella rotten. Some of them have play dates everyday at the dog park with their "best friends" and one is even having a Halloween Party at the dog park on Thursday! The lady gave me her info, apparently this is like a job for her. She actually throws parties for dogs. She wants to throw one for Bella's first birthday ha ha. Its pretty funny, they have cakes and pictures and goodie bags and everything. And she does birthdays, weddings, holidays, my favorite was the "bark-mitzvah" ha ha. A little overboard!! Who knew that I now pronounce you man and wife was ever said to two dogs! The bad part of the day came when we were leaving. Somewhere between the cash register and the car I lost Bella's folder with the picture and certificate :( I think I set it on top of the car to find the keys and forgot. I was so bummed...I mean 3 hours of all that for nothing but funny dog party stories?! I called and asked the store and they hadn't found it and then I got a hold of the manager and they still had the picture on the digital camera so they printed off another one for me. Thank goodness!! Anyways long post..who knew there could be so much to say about a trip to a pet store! Good times :) And Bella looked adorable!
